The Salastina Music Society brings both classical and new music to Los Angeles. Salastina is in its ninth year, and is maturing quite gracefully. Offering concerts in smaller venues with shorter performances encourages audiences to engage with the pieces as well as the artists.

Artistic directors Maia Jasper and Kevin Kumar both play the violin, but don’t limit their ideas to the standard string quartet. They have commissioned and premiered works, held traditional dinner/salon performances, played in churches, halls, and performing arts centers. They have featured dozens of guest artists, and occasionally coordinate with outside chamber orchestras and ensembles.
