I’m Sara Bashore, and I received my Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2018, where I studied primarily with Yuval Yaron, a student of Josef Gingold and Jascha Heifetz. I am currently continuing my education at UCSB as a Master’s Fellow in the Young Artist Piano Quartet. I am the concertmistress of both the UCSB Chamber Orchestra and the student created and managed UCSB Pops Orchestra. I also play with composer Jeremy Haladyna’s Ensemble for Contemporary Music
Currently, I am studying violin with Ambroise Aubrun, and viola with Jonathan Moerschel, violist with the Calder Quartet. Our chamber orchestra is led by Vlad Vizireanu, and pianist Robert Koenig guides our chamber music program.
Outside of school, I play first violin with the Santa Maria Philharmonic and am an orchestra assistant with the Santa Barbara Strings, a wonderful group that introduces children to the joys of music performance. Occasionally, I play with a Celtic or Folk band in downtown Santa Barbara on State Street. I especially like playing in community holiday concerts, and for special occasions such as weddings or parties. I substitute with the Young Musician Foundation’s Debut Chamber Orchestra in Los Angeles, and am looking forward to representing Santa Barbara in her sister city of Kotor’s annual arts festival in Montenegro this summer.
Passion for Music is my place to share all things music! So enjoy!
